Hello everyone, this is a write up on how to modify the speaker covers at the hatch to fit a retractable cover from a newer car. The part comes from a 2015-2018 Discovery Sport which Amazon lists for around 120$. It does involve cutting the covers a bit, but the cuts/missing material is all hidden by the cover. Although not perfect, it is daaaammmm close. As always with modding and cutting do it at your own risk. 2 things to note is that the cover does shift a lil and you're also gonna have to find a way to tie the cover to keep it stretched out, but nohing that a small strap, a hook and some velcro wont solve.

As far as cutting goes, youll just need a dremel to make the cuts. You'll need to cut some material towards the front of the cover, speaker side, and a small part right where the screw for the oem cover is.

While I may not agree with cutting original plastic... at least it isn't too rare or expensive and this restores lost functionality and adds compatibility - both worthy trade-offs.

Also, this is a good place to start when 3D scanning and printing replacement parts... thanks for the inspiration!
