the tool thing... my advice is to either paint them bright colors, or to put them in your pockets, or, buy one of those roller stands/trays, and put 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19 mm sockets and wrenches on there, and leave them there after you use them.
i also put a 10mm on the 1/4" drive, a 12mm on the 3/8" drive, and a 14mm on the 1/2 inch drive when im working in the engine bay, as i found those to be the most used sizes.
