I have habit of obsessing over a particular subject until I more or less become a subject matter expert. It usually stems from curiosity about how something works, or interacts with something else. This tends to drive me to learn as much as possible about how these things interact and work together to perform a function. I also have enough free time to make some helpful threads.

So I thought I would list all these threads in one "Thread Index" to make it easier for people who might be interested to find all the crap (facts, knowledge, info) that I've compiled over my endeavours.

This thread will NEVER have a completed or finished date, EVER. It will always be a work in progress as I find new shit to figure out how it works. So check and check back often.

Let the madness begin.

Also a wonderful page on deciphering their (Garrett) Turbo Nomenclature (Understanding what does GT2860RS mean exactly)

Everything You Ever Needed to Know about Engine Oil by AE Haas - Supramania - How to choose the right oil for your needs. Covers refined & synthetic oils, their differences, and similarities, how to understand the rating system, etc. Technical but easy to understand. Got it from a thread George (RaptorRacing) started. Keep reading, and keep reading, there are about a dozen articles that will take you a few hours to read through, however by the end of it you will come out with a much better understanding of proper oil selection, and exactly WTF 10W-30 means, and the differences between Mineral and Synthetic oils and the benefits of Synthetics. VERY Informative, starts with the basics, and is very easy to understand, Only the last 2 or so articles get really technical, also has some GREAT information on oil comparison data. READ IT.

Nice man, always love your in-depth information and now it's at the click of a thread. I vote to sticky this somewhere lol, FAQ's maybe?
rusty, if we could hook a set of jumper cables to your brain we'd have enough energy to power new jersey......you have an undying passion for these cars, and i'm glad to have met you:salute: keep on going my friend.
Thanks guys. I appreciate the positive feedback. I didn't do this to toot my own horn or inflate my ego. I did it because I happened to look through all the threads I had started and saw... WOW there's a BUNCH of good info here.. but no one would find it all. And honestly it's ALL related.

Engine... how much boost at what temp can we run before we reach a "critical mass" state and melt the pistons... to What would help the Turbo run better... more heat... Ceramic Coatings... to exhaust... How much or how little.... to how fast can we make it... how can we make it FASTER... Well by understanding the Aero.... okay... Now we need to figure out how to model the Aero simulation... how to do that... now that we've modeled it how do we MAKE the aero parts... etc.
Excellent info thread Rusty ! I just used CCleaner and wiped out 3390MB off my puter . Thanks for taking the time to do this and being kind enough to share it with us ,,, subscribed :)
Thanks very much for your time, Rusty. A selfish man you are not.

Not to nitpick, please don't think I am doing that, but the 'Rebuild your turbo yourself' link leads to the 'tire availability' thread. Otherwise, way cool! Thanks for all the work, this is better than the search button:laugh: I am gonna start pointing noobs here!!
Thanks Okie I'll fix that as soon as I get home! My only regret is not giving the thread a more intuitive title. Not many will search for "nerd-core" lol.
That is why it needs a sticky!!!!!
Awesome job Rusty, keep the info flowing brotha!

Your contribution to the MkII community is simply Supra!! :hail:
y isnt this a sticky??? its worthy and hows the 3d airflow model extracting doin

Nope, no luck yet. Still need to buy the Forza 2, and see if it's possible. As for 3d model creation, I did get my green laser when I was home. Have an idea that involves mounting a turntable to the minute hand on a clock so we'd end up with at least 6* accuracy, if not something more like .1* accuracy (3600 individual slices of the car; 60s x 60m).

But then there's the headache of being able to actually do something with the model. I've got SolidWorks but not sure if I can import the model generated from DAVID 3D.
Have I mentioned I'm in love....

QTP 3" Electric Exhaust Cutout.... w/ watertight connectors & switch... $159.99

QTP 3" Cutout Stainless $45.13

Think that may be next project. Sequential on stock ECU, with properly matched COPs. Wow, I made the "NCI".
