Took a quick trip out to AZ to catch the auctions with a few buddies back in January.

I visited Gooding and Barrett... was going to drop in on Russo & Steel too, but the freak storm wiped them out before I cld get over there.

So much automotive eye candy, my head was swimming.

No I didnt bid, and no I didnt bring anything home :-(

Heres some highlights...

Wow! I must go someday. Sort of an automotive mecca! I especially love that you took a pic of that LeMans Blue 69 Corvette.

*ahemm*...sorry that just kinda slipped out.

Nice shots Greg! I particularly like the Porshe tractor...that has to be quite unique. Not sure what the unwashed Mercedes wagon was doing in there, but diffrent strokes for diffrent folks, I suppose.

Looks like you were the proverbial "kid in the candy store". :)

dude... you gotta see the Blastolene in person to appreciate how huge it really is. Blew my mind.

I especially love that you took a pic of that LeMans Blue 69 Corvette.
yeah baby... I took that one just for you. Pristine is an understatement.
The other one (maroon/claret) was gorgeous too.

If anyone is curious about the sale price of these cars, I believe they are posted on the respective auction house websites.

http://www.goodingco.com/auctions/results/scottsdale10/

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appl...list.aspx?aid=304&sd=01/19/2010&ed=01/24/2010

Off the top of my head, I know the Jaguar D-Type (white/bluestripe) set a record at 3.7 million.
The black Ferrari PF cabriolet sold for 2.1 million.
The Hertz Gold Cobra brought 1.1 million.
The Benz Gullwing hammered at 660K in as-found barnyard condition.

The blue 69 Camro RS ragtop that I followed into the Barrett tent sold for 150K.
I just looked up the yellow Honda Z600.... hammered at 27,500... wow!!!

Awesome pix, Greg!! I especially like the Hertz Gold Cobra, but every time I see the Barrett-Jackson auctions on TV, I can't help but wonder where what seems like an endless supply of pristine, low mileage all original muscle cars actually come from?? There can't possibly be that many "original" vintage muscle cars out there in such pristine condition. There has to be a limit on just how many actually still exist ...... which I would think not many. Something is screwy w/ this picture. :wtf:

Awesome pics. Car Porn.

AZ is little different than the east coast lol. I used to have a bunch of family down in the Phoenix area. Pretty interesting to see.

Must be nice to travel all over with a Camera:thumbsup:
