do rwd corollas use w series trannies? and will the shifter from a 80's rwd corrola fit a w58 in a mkii? im pretty sure it will work but want to be sure.

the shifter came out on my wifes AE about the same as on a mk2 but I never compared the two. I'm guessing they wouldn't work. Rolla shifters sit very straight and tall too. I imagine if you use one in a supra it would be pretty uncomferatable, it would be too far forward.
no, it wouldnt be too far forward as the r154 pushes it back 2in. but i been looking and dont think a stocker will work. i have a habit of breaking worn out shifters pretty fast and was trying to find another cheap source.
