Payments made by 30 September will ship approximately 5 October

For the last minute guys, the second shipment will occur after 15 October.

Notes:

These are slightly adjustable. What I did was allow one to easily
remove the upper section, and shorten the lower rod.

The shifter height is about 1" lower than stock.

The fulcrum point was "slightly" shortened, as some owners
of the v1 shifter noted they were slightly notchy. The same occurs
with the C's shifter. This occurs as the transmission wears, and
if the clutch line pressure is not as strong.

Installation is easier. Just remove the old shifter, and install
the new one. No spacers are required for v2.

The lower white bushing is included (just not in the picture)

Not to take the wind out of anyone's sales (HA!) but can't you just hacksaw the middle of the stock shifter out and weld it back together?

Yes, of course you can. This however is "not" what you're thinking it is.

Not only is it a SHORTER shifter than stock....it is what's called a "short shifter" ie; the physical throw of the shifter is significantly less than the stock one is.

The throw distance between 1st and 2nd gear is a LOT less than the stock OEM shifter. A good example of this would be the shifter in the new 350Z. Go to a Nissan dealer, sit in the car and try the shifter. You'll notice how the distance between each gear seems much less. The Jim King short shifter is very much like that.

The result: nice QUICK gear transitions.

You can CUT your stock shifter off if you want to but you will NEVER match what Jim's short shift kit does by cutting the stock lever in two.

Call me stupid, but how does that work? I thought the distance between gears had something to do with inside the transmission itself. How can a shorter stick change that?

He changes the pivot point of the shifter.

Hey Jim: Any chance of accepting a payment on the 16th?

Tyler,

It's Jim King, no company name, this is his owner personal thing, but one of MANY group purchases that he has held or previously done. I participated in a steering wheel leather recover GP 2 years ago with American Stitches that Jim headed. Jim is up in the NE, like in Massechusetts.

Look in the Group Buys forum & see all of the other items that he has going. Like the Big Brake Kit that he has done for a few members recently.

Finally met him in person last year @ the Vegas meet. Outstanding person!!!! :D 8) :D

Tell you're parents that he's cool and he is on our good guy list!!

A proper short "throw" shifter will change the fulcrum point, without
changing the shifter height (v2 is about 1" shorter than stock).

One can do the SOGI hack saw method, but the end result is much
more difficult shifting. I've done them all.

I do this as a hobby business. This purely based on wanting
peformance parts for the MK2. And that I found a CNC fabricator that
are willing to make short quantities. Trust me, many shops didn't want to
bother with these projects.

Quality wise, these are top notch. Far better than the C's ( I have one).

Anyone who has received any of the parts I had made can confirm this.

I've been around the MK2 internet community for some 9 years (wow!)

I plan on buying one...gotta get in on the "before the 30th" buy in. I mean after all...since I make "a butt load of cash" it shouldn't be a problem, right? *sigh*
