There's the C's, both expensive and somewhat hard to find stateside, and the Jim King designed shifter. Mucher cheaper and easier to source than the C's. I know www.suprasport.com sell them for $289. And then there is always the shortened height SOGI mod, not really the same as a true short throw, but I thought I'd throw that out as well. HTH

Don't forget that there are way more Hondas on the road and FWD shifters are much simpler than the Mk2 shifter.

There are 10 gazillion Honda's, so unit costs are cheap.

And most aftermarket Honda short shifters are made of aluminum.

The 2nds I had were $217 shipped. They are sold out.

Compare that to $329 for a C's, with a 6+ week wait.

And I'll toot my own horn, mine, I believe are much better.
(props really go to the machine shop).

V2 is in production currently.

I may have a pre-pay group buy soon. MK2 owners only (of course!)

Stay tuned!

I just installed a modified MK2 shifter given to me by Andrew(Trunkthumper) that he calls his "Wristbreaker"-To those familiar with the MK2 design, this one is just the Large outer Shift shaft and inner rubber bushing removed from lower shaft, and then threads are tapped for the shifter-about 4-5 inches taken out-just a stub left when installed-Ive put back about an inch and a half using 3/8 inch brass coupler and nipple-reused the stock shift boot-Fabricated a new bushing, but you can hack off non threaded part of old shaft and reuse that-tucked in extra leather boot and reused stock shift knob-looks like stock-My old bones didnt like the 4" cut-I really like the 3" version a lot!-Short, Quick, Positive shifts- Contact Andrew-Speed Racer Icon-He might have a couple laying around- :D

Here is yet another alternative. Check out my shortened stock shifter and complete step-by-step instructions on my Modifications page at:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/dean.anderson4/

Note that this will shorten the shifter by about 1.5 to 2 inches, but not shorten the throw.

If you want to shorten the throw, you should try the Jim King short shifter. I've seen them, and they are top-notch quality.

Hey Jim, whats the difference between the v1 and v2? I read the reviews on suprasport and there were some comments on it becoming more notchy. Is this something you dealt with for the new v2?

Thanks
CHristian

First, the shifter has a spring that keeps the ball tight. So, the shifter
feels tight at first, until it gets better seated.

Also, some transmissions are worn, so the synchro wear will show faster
with a short throw shifter. Same with the SOGI shortie mod.

I've addressed a few things in V2, and some cool features.

But it's a secret!

I am *most* certain you guys will like it.

Same quality from the fabricator I use.

I'm just the design and prototype guy. ;-)
