i have the chance to buy an 84 celica supra with 200K on the motor...the motor was recently rebuilt and just had a tune up and oil change...the cluch and trans seem mint...all new tires, a new stock exhaust, system.. ti has a little rust on the front left 1/4 pannel and a little bit on the door....the question is though, is it worth $650...its my first car and i don't really need a lemon

thanks

If the engine is rebuilt and it seems to be running in good condition then yea the car seems to be at a good price

But if your worried about it, take a compression test on and see if the rings arnt too worn out.

for $650 ill take it. Id make sure the car dont have any major problems that they are trying to hind. But still it seems like a steal. That u guys think.

Just check for hidden rust in the quarters and underneath. Don't want to explode in a red dust cloud if there's an accident. Other than that, supra is pretty reliable and give ample warning before stuff breaks. Many of our members have way more milage than that and drive everywhere. Can't say I've ever heard anyone describe a Supra as a lemon. Only good experiences.
