Great time in Las Vegas this week for SILV 2019. Miguel had everything organized as usual. Scenic drive on Thursday to Valley of Fire state park and return along Lake Meade. Friday was show and shine at Speed Vegas with a night meet at Virtual Works in Las Vegas. Saturday was for the dyno guys.
Got to meet a couple of the long time forum members, Carfreek from PacNW, Whitey482 from Dallas, and Rosso who came all the way from Japan.
Good to see you Bob. Your car is beautiful and congrats on all the awards. You stole the show n shine for the mk2. Well deserved. Hope to see you and even more mk3 guys next year. Hopefully I'll have my car done and will be able to drive it there next year. Heres a couple pics I snapped of your car.
I don't have an actual count, but was told that attendance was about 160. I am guessing there were only about 7 or 8 MKII, maybe 30 MKIII, and mostly MKIV's. There were many people with high end cameras taking pictures and videos, even a couple drones, so I think there will be so good documentation. Toyota was there showing off the new MKV's and I think they were filming also.
Billy,
Great to hear from you. It is not as much fun as the Dragon, where everyone knows each other, but it is still nice to see so many people interested in Supras and all of the things they have done with them. We are still part time in AZ so hopefully will be around for SILV next year. Will watch for details. Would be great to see some of the PA Meet guys show up.
Bob
YESS! I will be watching with anticipation. There was one nice guy next to me at the show and shine that had a nice body modded MKIII that everyone envied and he was from Charleston, Antonio I think was his name.
Lets do it! I got a late invite from Satoshi (Rosso) on tuesday of the week of the show that he was coming lol. I didn't realize Mike and his v12 were going too. With a bit more warning, I possibly could have pulled off a last minute trip and joined them. Ah well, got to see them all up here when they got back last week.
Ah man, I hope JCCS and SIV line up nice to take in together like they did last year. I couldn't make it with my son, he was just too young for the drive.
Did they ever move the show to someplace that isn't a random parking lot in the middle of nowhere behind the speedway? Last one I went to a couple of years ago was just miserable for a location.
This year the show and shine was at speed vegas https://speedvegas.com/en/ located just south of the strip. We basically had the whole parking lot and the race track gave like a 50% discount on their race car experience. And they let people inside the show room. I liked it better than Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The food situation could have been better. They had one food truck and it ran out of food. All in all the event went pretty well.
