What the ....? Chris didn't make you guys all park in build date order this year. Looks like turnout was way down this year. That whole parking lot was full last year.

Seamus: No Canadian plates (unless you count mine :p) at the show...you sure your friend was coming??

There were 15 MkIIs at the show, which is a couple less than last year. Apparently there were several last-minute reasons why people didn't show, or showed without their Supras...I think there were less IIIs and IVs also - Keith said that several people who paid in advance didn't show. Several people said they'd definitely bring MkIIs next year. There were a few people there this year who were new.

For all of you that didn't come ... you missed the grudge match of the year .... Chris Eng's and my Redpras at the drags. :p

And the result was?

a) Chris Eng won

b) Bob Sully won

c) Both stopped for Krispy Kremes and never got down the track

Attendance at the Show-and-Shine was down a bit from 2002... but the fact that the lot was only half full had more to do with the way they were stacked in this year.

In 2002 we had 150 Supras in that lot and had them spaced out across the entire width of the lot. This year we had just over 130 Supras in the same lot but had more rows so we could put the anticipated 200ish Supras in there - based on room sales + RSVPs + Registrations.

It seems that the more exciting activity in Vegas is to go out and party all night and then sleep through the Show-and-Shine.

Thanks again to all the MkIIs that did show up. It is always great to see the history of the Supra represented so well. We were even surprised by the MkI that made the trek from Utah - FINALLY a SILV event with every generation represented.

I am still dealing with the lack of sleep (and the lack of a job now too) and hope to have the official recap online by the weekend. My pictures will take a bit longer as I have 2400 pictures to sort through.

There's a few more from the drags on another page at the same site...for example:

http://www.lvracingscene.com/events/2003/10-04-03_2/DSC05976.JPG

(Dave and John squaring off)

There's also another one (Zank against a MkIII) there, plus the last race between the Titan and VirtualWorks MkIVs (9.02, 9.06 sec. ETs). Unfortunately, they didn't see fit to put up one of Chris Eng and I in our twin Redpras....:-(

did any MKI's show?
There was a white one in some of the photos I've seen. Supposedly the 1st MkI to ever show up in Vegas.

I posted a link to the 391rwhp vid in the 7M-GTE section. Simply badass. Those white-lettered tires were really moving. :D ;)
