Show n’ Shine – Drift and Drags w/ Street Driven Tour

Street Driven Tour approached us shortly after SIV 2015. After a few meetings, the decision was made to partner with them to offer a Car Festival day with Supras in Vegas as the main event.

The Goal is to provide a greater stage to show off our Supras and show our passion for our favorite car to a larger group of car enthusiasts. The Show n Shine will be ran alongside Street Driven Tours event, but we will be in charge of our own show, using the same format as previous years.

Along with the Show n Shine, we will be running our Drag race event, into the evening. No worries, we are working on a schedule that will not take away from both events. We held off the competition last year, with Supras reigning supreme, but there will be more competition this year on the Drag strip.

Drag Racers will be parked outside of the main car show event, but will have their own Drag Race Show n Shine awards, to go along with the racing awards.

The third element is Street Driven Tours Drift event and fun house. This will feature Formula Drift drivers and is also open to anyone SIV Attendees that would like to burn some tires. SIV participants will be given a discount on these drift events of course.

Final details and Schedule will be up soon.

7000 North Las Vegas Blvd.

Looks like fun. I'll need a co-pilot. It's a long drive,solo.
Chinese fire drill? My engine is happy,my brain is happy to push my brick down 2,000 miles of tarmac.
I'll need to devise a way to push my MPG's over 25... prolly not gonna happen.
Mike's car can.
Down I-5 to Susanville or go East from San Francisco? I'd like to avoid the L.A. traffic.
Route choices?

The last part is a horrible, boring mind-numbing blur.
Maybe a different diff ratio.ALL synthetic oils.Test your top speed in Nevada.Starts to float around?
I get that @ 110,then the trim flies off.

See the drive video?
I was gonna fly down and back, maybe.
OK,rail or transport my car to 'Vegas and drive back in a caravan.
To get my car there would be $700-$900 one way.
I can fly RT for $200.

Who needs a co-pilot?
I'll fly there and hang for a few days.
Late September.

You will likely see me there. Vegas is a bit of a drive, so I may bring it on a trailer. I'll race and dyno challenge if I show up, idk, that's like 2000 miles from here.

Just signed up Ms. Swan for the Dyno Challenge.

This is really more of a 'science experiment' than anything else, as I'm curious to see how much power a well-maintained, 167,000 mile 5M engine puts down to the rollers.

If she makes 125 rwhp I'll be pretty happy!

I thought I was going to make it this year, but its starting to look like mission impossible to get ready in time. Lead time on new wheels 8 weeks out and that is the optimistic schedule. I got 55/62 things on my list done this year so far though...

I'm so overdue, but no way to swing it this year either. I am actively planing and working towards making it happen next year. And not just in a, hey that would be nice way. Sure hope the dates don't interfere with JCCS in Long Beach next year though. Organizers note, a lot of us peeps who come from far away places for this show like to stay an extra week and take in JCCS too, way more bang for the travel buck that way. "Usually" the big Vegas Supra show is only off by a week, but sometimes 2 weeks which is a pain, and worse sometimes the same weekend (as it is this year).

Yup, just said that. Me and DeanFun are planing on coming next year, and will be hitting both shows. Tough call which is a bigger draw for us, we both own even older JTin too.

Three times I've "tried" to go to the JCCS down at the Queen Mary, and either the lot was full, I couldn't find a shuttle bus, or the shuttle bus ignored me and went past...

Maybe someday I'll make it, but I'm not holding my breath!
