Sonic run a great success

We had the SONIC fun run on Sunday. It was perfect weather. About 15 cars turned out, Mostly MK3s. There was one MK4 single turbo. 5 Lexus' (Lexi?) and 3 MK2 including Reg Reimers mk2GTE. One guy showed up to advertise his MK2 for sale but didnt join the run. It was an 83 Terra-cotta Ptype from Florida with 87000miles. He wants 14,500Canadian for it
and its an auto :!: We had planned to drive to Elbow falls but since it was a Holiday weekend it was full so we changed plans and did a loop through the mountains-up through the Kananaskis over the summit and down into the foothills. It was hot-33C(about 95 farenhiet)and we had one MK3 blow its HG on the climb to the Summit. We stopped at a rest area and got him a tow then headed on. By the end the MK4 was running a little off (slight miss) But my car was still running strong. I had the oldest engine and it never missed a beat (I am so proud of Sally :) )
I also got to meet forty-below and his wife. They are nice people and we plan to get together to do some work on our cars. He has very nice blue 83 that runs like a top. I look forward to meeting up soon.
I will definetely be going on the next run.

I'm sure this was a rhetorical question, but I'd expect the following:
1) the guy did a retorque to 72 ft/lbs a while ago and
2) maintained his cooling system so that
3) BHG was never a consideration

It's a shame that happened -- especially on a fun run.
The engine was spotless and well maintained as was the whole car. IIRC it had the HKS turbo set up with the HKS cross pipe, Very Nice! I am sure he and Reg will be trying to figure it out this week
A few pictures of the run have been posted by Mr. Reimer.

Check out pic #6 for a shot of the coolant spilling from Jason's MkIII. I sent him a quick note this morning; he & his girlfriend arrived back in Calgary in good time. His note said that the problem was only a thermostat - lucky for him if this turns out to be the case.
Nice pictures cool cars like the white one with the white bumper looks well kept, also the blue car I think I remember the owner, he bought it at a really good price. looks like fun would of liked to have been there. :D
Wow wow wow - does anyone have anymore pix of that dark blue 83 P-Type I see in Reg's album? That car looks supremely clean in what little pix I saw.

Thnx

Quite. I hope for the fellow that it was indeed his thermostat. :(

Thanks it looks like a different car from when I bought it but there is still so much to do. by the way I am the guy with the long hair and shorts checking out jasons broken MK3.
A few more pictures from another site. Lots of similar pix & mostly focused on the MkIII's. I was not able to launch anything but the .jpg files (maybe just me though).
