A spun rod bearing could be caused by a number of things such as lack of oil, too high rpm, dirty oil, etc. A siezed pin could be due to lack of oil but then you would find other areas that are damaged by lack of oil like cam bearing journals badly gouged up. How are the cylinders and pistons especially cyl #4?
stiff wrist pin
I bought a mkIII with a 7mge. it spun a rod bearing. I tore it apart and #4 cylinder had the spun rod bearing. and i noticed that wrist pin was really stiff compared to the rest. what could cause this and what else should i look at?
