Hey guys just wondering how many different MK2 Clubs there are in North America, and do they have major meets throughout the year?

Toronto Supra Club Annual Meet
Dayton Club Annual meet
New Jersey

But are there any others

PacNW Supras
SoCalSupras
Rocky Mountain Supras
Mid-Atlantic Supras

There's also a Supra group in the San Francisco Bay Area

There are more but can't recall any others at the moment.

The Vegas meet is open to anyone with a Supra. It's put together every year by Keith Hart, who's with PacNW Supras.

The Texas mk4 owners sponsor a meet in Houston each spring, but mk2 turnout was only me for like 3 years in a row, and they didn't really cater to mk2 or mk3 with appropriate trophies or anything so I quit going and missed the last two. Vegas usually has a decent mk2 showing but its so damn far away. Need to move to Seattle as the PacNW group seems to have a plethora of mk2s.

Hey, Phil....I think you'd need to be treated for "climate shock" if you moved up there. :p

Yep, the PacNW guys have a pretty healthy MKII following up here. I'm trying to stir up MKI participitation, but it's a little hard when most of the peeps on the database don't bother participating. In the meantime, myself up in the Seattle area & Sam O'Hollaran (Black Dawg), down in the Corvallis, OR area, are keeping the flame lit!!!

This past August, we just launched our inaugural PacNW Nationals meet in the Seattle area... Mostly peeps from WA, OR, ID & BC came, but we're hoping to attract more from other State's. And we want to keep the meet location on a "roving/everyone takes their turn" like basis. A MKIV owner in Idaho has possibly stepped up to host next years meet, we'll see what happens.

Guys, he said MK2 clubs. I think the only real mk2 club that exists in NA is this forum. Many areas have their own little meets now and then, but not too many of them are specifically for the mk2s.

Whoops, I missed that part.

MKII specific clubs in the PacNW??? None that I know of. For most peeps that have regional meets, it's mostly comprised of Supra's of all 4 gen's, but it's pretty rare to have a gen specific meet. The CLOSEST thing that we had to one of these, was almost 2 years ago. We basically had a fairly large MKII gathering/party up at Shawn Pease's (junkie) garage when Shawn & Don were doing the 7M install in Leslie Grover's Red Toad. Mostly the MKII owners in the general Seattle area, but Jamie Bergen (ghostrider) and Dave Anders (Dave A) made the drive up from Eugene, OR to attend the festivities. It was still sort of a multi generation party, 1 MKIII (Rob Fenner's 89T), and 1 MKIV (Derek Steffey's 94TT).

I think the Suprapalloza meet in Vancouver was the 2nd closest in terms of attendance.

So gatherings yes, specific clubs, no.. At least not in the PacNW.

I think we should start one in the TO area. MKII only, we have enough owners of the MKIIs in the area.

Or maybe there should be a world wide CelicaSupra Club with chapters in different cities. Malloy can be the Sonny Barger of our "club" j/k about the Sonny Barger part.

Thats...

Celica Supra MC.

I can just see the jackets with a dragon patch on the back, Celica over it and Supra below it.

We'd be known as the Celica Supras

I like the pushing boost part, cool.

Actually I work with some different "club" members and they are pretty good guys.

You can always count on them and they always help out. Not what the public image is at all.
Was never a "club" member, but have "ties" also.

My Sportster was stolen by a club I refused to prospect for  Had to sell my Panhead to pay for the second kid.Fund for another ride is part of the reason my Toy's and Charger are moving so slow.Want too many things  got to put a little away for each 8)

I'm surprised you own Toyotas at all, does that not go against the whole image? Maybe the "clubs" have finally decided to move ahead.

I'm not into that scene and for obvious reasons I could never be a member (they would never let me join). Don't care for that kind of thing anyway, just surrounded by it. That's why I know about some aspects of it.

The Dayton club (aka SUPRATECH AUTOSPORTS) got its start from 2 guys with mk2s - one being your truly, the other being Jobe.

We started that club because we wanted all Toyota performance car owners to have some place to gather. Back when Toyota's own national club just died out.

We didn't and still don't have enough mk2's to justify a mk2 only club in Dayton. Besides I like too many of the other Toyota sports cars to not include them.

Regards,
James R
