Supraforums hacked!

I've been getting increasing amounts of spam in my inbox lately (I delete up to 100 a day) so I've been on a campaign to remove my email address from all forums etc. I logged on to Supraforums just now, and this is the message displayed on the front page:

the server have been hacked by fady911x

Let this be a lesson to keep your forum software up to date. 2 year old versions of unpatched software are just asking to be hacked.

Ouch!!!

I hope someone over there had the sense to do a recent back up. :shock: I routinely back up our forum every week without fail.

that forum is so poorly maintained as to make a competent server admin lose their lunch.

...and it's the fault of the owners (Dusty) IMO. Not enough resources dedicated to it.

Should be interesting to see what happens over there. I really HOPE we do not end up with any of their traffic on our forum as a result. I doubt we will, because this site has nothing to do with the Mk3/Mk4 - but...we'll see what happens.

Nevertheless....what a bummer for them.

A-Men! I don't know what happened with the big "Server Upgrade" they were making a lot of noise about a year ago, nothing changed.

Well, not so much that as the fact that MkII Supra guys who registered here and posted once or twice but usually post regularly there will come back here.

Well, not so much that as the fact that MkII Supra guys who registered here and posted once or twice but usually post regularly there will come back here.

I guess what I meant is that I hope our forum doesn't absorb their TROLL problem - any of you that know SF.com well, know what I mean.

I'd hate to see that happen here. Would mean a lot more work for Malloy, Quick and I. :?

well no offence to anyone in particular, but if they've come here, experinced this, then went exclusively back to the mk2 section of the supraforums, well.... I'd rather they just stayed there :wink:

I'm not concerned about trolls. If that becomes a problem just make me an admin and I will ban every single person that trolls. :twisted:

As I stated before, the odds of us having a troll problem on this forum are slim to none. Fortunately, we have nothing for trolls.

1. the masses dont care about mk2s
2. mk2s are slow
3. mk2 owners are not dicks
4. the masses dont care about mk2s

People troll cause they love a car, are jealous of a car, hate the owners, or hate that the cars are fast. We are in good shape
