Hi. long time reader here. Just ordered ground control adjustable springs-fellow at g\c said spring rate is 300, ordered a set of 350lb springs...Is this enough? I thought I read 600-700 lb for front strut springs. This car is for daily driver\abuse and I would be ok with a stiff ride, but not spine shattering! :roll:

I assume you got a coilover kit. If the springs are the 2.5" ID Eibach units, then hopefully they are more than 8" springs. 300 lb springs are fine for street and such (I believe Eibach Pro-kits are in the range of 250-270 lbs but they are progressive) as long as they are long enough such that you have adequate spring travel. I usually suggest a 425-450 lb spring for 8" units and probably a 10" spring if you want to run springs as light as 300 lbs. Lot depends on how you design your coilover kit as what spring length will fit though. I cut my strut housings about 2" shorter, so I can't fit 10" springs at the current car height.

I finally got my 83 running so I drove it for the first time yesterday. I have the GC coilovers with 350 pound springs and Tokico HP's...and a bunch of other stuff. The ride is nice. NOT spine shattering and not soft. You do have to cut the sleeve of your coilovers though. Otherwise they don't clear the retaining nut for the strut.
