After a great start back in 96-97 with some truly multi-generational meets, the Texas group sort of splintered in 2000 when Heather Hanchett who was instrumental in rallying the troops started dating some Neon guy, then moved to Washington DC. Andrew Fritz, Mark Kamboonphet and a couple other mk3 folks tried to keep it going with the swsupras but have been rather overshadowed by the texas mkiv owners who are very active among themselves, but who couldn't give a fart about their supra heritage. The mk3 owners themselves have been split yet again by a couple of parts deals gone great or terrible depending on who you ally yourself with. And us mk2 folks are just too few and too scattered to make much of a showing. I know for a fact there were fewer than 300 mk2s registered in Texas as of 1998 when last I was able to get vehicle title information (its no longer public information due to privacy laws). I posted awhile back on the mk2 list that I was willing to host a mk2 meet to show off my new shop but only Leslie responded and he's in New Mexico. I don't know who is maintaining these web sites but they are still up apparently.

If anything gets going again, count me in.
