OK, I think I got most of this forum thing figured out, I started here two months ago seeking help to get my 84 back on the road after I was horrified at the thought of selling or junking it after almost 20 years. I've posted out of turn in the wrong place a few times, figured out to search first, etc, gone through SupraForums.com and MK2 on Yahoo and in the end naturally gravitated to this forum and today finished reading every post in every thread here at CS.com so far. I feel bad that the "Help fund the site" one was one of the last ones I got to and that was where a wealth of info was, who is in charge, who you guys are, and a more personal feeling of love for these cars that I had no idea was out there.
I now have a 6m on the way from Japan to be installed next week. I plan to get my hands dirty and figure out some of this restoration part for myself, with the help of the FAQs so far and hope to get this car in better condition (rust wise).
Now here's where you'll laugh. Looks like I might be one of the very few females involved here and I know almost nothing about mechanical things. I have definitely learned alot and want to keep learning so I'm warning you I'll be around, I can't help it, I love this car, and I even want more of them, but one thing at a time.
Again, I just want to thank everyone involved in this for the inspiration and motivation I have gotten from you.
Oh and:
-I would love to donate, should I wait til next year?
-I would love a set of the stickers (I already PMed Malloy for these)
-I would love a calender when they're ready, I work in the graphic arts industry and have all the Killer Macintoshes anyone could want with all the software to go with them and I am available if anyone needs a hand with the graphics projects. We also have a vinyl cutter and wide format printers at the shop, etc,etc...
-I would love a coffee cup, one vice I havn't been able to give up.
-I would love a t-shirt.
-Anything else that says Celica Supra on it, I'll take. My cohortsthat know me well enought to not get socked have started calling me SupraSlut which makes me laugh, but I couldn't use that for my user name, it might misrepresent this girl in the back half of her 30s...
15 years ago maybe I could have paid forall these items by auditioning to be the thong model, I guess I'll give cash instead!
Thanks again.
