Just wanted to let folks know that Aaron is da man!

Thanks to him putting some pieces together, I am now well onto a 5mgTe

Have fresh bottom end, new clutch, and ct26, manifold, elbow, and oil lines, all thanks to RC :twisted:

what clutch did you get.....I got the act four puck clutch disc, don't use it.....you will learn how to drive it just fine......but it is a PITA!!!

Whatever brand it is that NAPA sells in Canada...I got the 7MGTE clutch..
I'm not going real radical, and I don't usually drag race....I prefer open highway runs

I dont think the 7mgTe (R154?) clutches work with our tranny. A clutch from a 7mge will work though (W58?).

Is my memory failing me?

Mark, you got everything correct about 7mgte clutch vs 7mge clutch. Two different clutches. One won't work in another.

Ken, if you did get the 7mgte clutch then you'll need to return it for a 7mge clutch which is made for w58 trans. 7mgte clutch is a pull type whereas the 7mge is a push type.

Actually..get one for an NA Mk IV. Its the same clutch, except that th disk is slightly larger and provides a bit more gripping power without being harsh and is still a direct bolt up.

kjurkic if you dont mind me asking, can you PM me with some info about costs that you paid, kinda interested to budget this out before christmas, so i know how broke im gonna be after xmas

Aaron certainly is da man. I'm a BIG fan of the TrueTrac diff he sent over, although my transmission isn't very happy about the extra grip I have now.
