Today was the final points event for the central Florida regoin of the SCCA. I got 2nd out of 4 and got my first autocross trophy ever. I beat 2 RSX's one by almost a second and the other by over 2 seconds, I was pretty happy about that, we were fighting for the lead all day but I nailed it pretty good on my last run and sealed their fate LOL. The person who took first place was a GTI on Hoosiers so I cant really keep up with that, but I think I was less than 2 1/2 seconds behind him. The GTI driver also took the yearly championship and I will finish second in year end points also and get a nice plaque for that at the year end banquet too.

Thanks for all the praise :) I love having fun in the Supra and always get comments from spectators about how much they like it, people are always milling around checkin it out. The competition is pretty intense around here, there was a list on the course map yesterday that had all the central Florida drivers that had trophied at nationals in Topeka this year and there were nearly 15 drivers on that list. As far as beating the GTI driver that would require some racing tires and more car prep. Theres a few more things I want to do but I'm still against using race tires, I'm a firm believer in the run what ya brung mentality. I will be getting some better street tires around the beginning of next year though when my current ones are done with so that will help me some but not 2 seconds worth :-(

I encourage all of you to find your local region at www.scca.com and give it a try just once. You will have the most fun you have ever had in your life and you will be learning how to be a better driver. You will be suprised at how little you really know :) You will meet lots of great people that will be friendl and enthusiastic about helping you go fast.

P.S. I run in (DSP) D Street Prepared

Wes, maybe check out Falken Azenis tires when time to replace. Not a R-tire but seems to be the hot setup for STS cars. Kinda noisy from what I'm told, but maybe only 1/2 sec slower than a R tire.

Nice job on the season ! Keep up the good work and maybe I'll run into you at Nats !

No wide Azenis in 14" or 16", you have to have a 17" rim just to get a 225. I'm getting Khumo MX's which the local hotshoes seem to think are as fast as Azenis. I sometimes toy with the idea of getting some Victoracers for the stock wheels but then I would be violating my run what ya brung rule but maybe if I get desperate to find some speed. I definately want to go to nationals sometime even if I'm not competing. I drove my friend Jesse's prepped E-Stock MR2 yesterday and that was a blast, you probably saw him at nationals, Black with plaid stripes LOL If his co driver ever quits I will be gunning for his place. I think I could learn to be fast in that car!!! He drove my car and says he has some ideas to make it faster so I'm gonna see what he thinks, but he did enjoy driving it :)

I'll let you guys know how the kuhmo v700's on stocker rims work out next season. I am going to pull 3rd in my class for the season if I get atleast a few points next event (sunday). We usually have 5-8ppl run. I think there are 5 with enough races to make points (6 of 10)...

I need to get my next seasons car running.... Must... have... stock... car...

If only I could hold off buying ungodly ammounts of turbo goodies for a month or so and purchase the kuhmos...
