now also discovered that the distributor is prob screwed. that would be why it ate a rotor today. now hopefully i can get this other one from this guy and fix it that way, otherwise its 5 days, and money im almost out of.

that's what my dad did when we installed my age-old Alpine deck. when we went to an audio place to get the Metra pocket, i also asked for the Metra wiring kit, but the guy gave me some bs like "no, they don't make those anymore", so when we got home, my dad decided to cut up the wire harness before i could stop him.trdmkii said:the previous owner of my car cut the harness too, i had to to a junkyard and cut that harness then rewire my harness and buy one of those aftermarket wiring kits before i got mine working again, took me like 4 hours....but i got it. good luck wit the distruibutor.
There's no reason to hack the plugs off the wiring harness and make a mess of things in your console, when you can buy one of these and then wire it to your stereo.1. Wiring Harness
I highly recommend using a METRA wiring harness (part #70-1398). With this harness you will not have to cut and ruin the clean Toyota wiring. The harness should cost around $10 USD, a small fee for a much cleaner, and easier install.
