Will a throttle body off of a 7mgte fit on a 5mge?

same bolt pattern if i remember right and will use the tps as long as its an 84-86 5m wit hthe small 4 wire tps. the linkage rod may need to be adjusted.

Why bother? The 7M TB has the same ID as the 5M TB.

The 6M TB is the same size as the 5M TB and it's a bigger engine.

5m-7m have different bolt pattern anyway,doesn't bolt on.

ok, i didnt remember if it was different or not. i know my buddy made a new intake manifold for his celica alltrac and was gonna use a 5m tb but then used a 7mgte tb. i figured he had already drilled the holes for the flange and they were the same. guess not.

I only know because whenever I need that gasket,the one at the shop,at 11pm, is always the wrong one,have to order one :wink:

lmao. yeah, but isnt that how it always is with everything you need. it seems the one you have is always wrong, espeacially when your in a hurry.

The gaskets may be different but they do line up. At least the holes match up, haven't tried to bolt it on yet. And I'm not going to, because it fits perfectly. As in the outlet diameter on the 7mgte unit is EXACTLY the same as the one on the 5m. Inlet diameter is 65 mm. Its a poor upgrade choice anyways as its missing all the vacume lines ports the 5m one has and other important features. The throttle linkage also interferes. Yeah, bad choice. Anyone want to buy a 7mgte throttle body with tps?
