timing belt

if the timing belt on a 5M-GE engine breaks will it mess up any engine parts?

negatory. toyota isn't stupid like honda and other companies. they made all engines that use a timing belt non-interference. timing chain engines aren't but belted ones are. chain snaps it'll simply die and not run til a new one is put on.

unless there is a variety of small rodents in your cylinder.
