Hi, I think I have a bad Throttle Position sensor but wanted to check with you all here before buying a new one.

I had a problem timing my engine and got a great tip here on adjusting the TPS to put the ECU into closed loop. Well that worked great, only thing was my car was dropping RPMs really quick when releasing the gas pedal, if I let it go in 1st gear it would throw you forward it would wind down so quickly. So, I decided to check the TPS with my multimeter. I can't get it to read below 14 Ohms or so without losing continuity altogether (this is with no feeler guage at all between the throttle stop screw and the plate). Is it safe to assume I need to replace the TPS. Thanks, and sorry this was such a long and boring post.

Try checking the throttle stop screw setting first and then adjust your TPS. Back the stop screw out and then turn it back in until the end of the screw just comes in contact with the throttle stop lever and then give the stop screw about another 1/16th of a turn. The fuel injectors are switched off by the ECU during deceleration with your foot off the gas and get switched back On once RPM drops to 1200 RPM.
