Not yet...

I did talk with Billy last Friday (June 17th) and he indicated that he was in the process of arranging shipping and procuring custom shipping containers.

I paid my second invoice and just got my final one that included shipping. I have not paid the last one, but the $985 + shipping is correct.

Got the moldings today, rough finish. Aren't really an accurate facsimile of what was shown when getting this group buy organized. Way better than a rusted out set, but I have a nice set and was willing to pay $1,000 to have a perfect set. This is not it. Top two pictures was shown early on to gain interest, second two pictures is of the trim I received.

As a side note, the second gen of theses moldings, the stick-on type, were far from as smooth finish as the original snap-in ones.

Hey Red,
Are you saying the stick on type had a rough, flat, finish? I guess you would have to replace the entire set with the stick on type if you needed to replace even one piece, as the reproductions I received are not really even close in finish.

By no means can I comment on Billy's product.
But the dealer units, sold ruffly from 1995, had a satin finish, a bit different from the original glossy ones. I ended up sanding & polishing my replacement ones in early 2000.

Mine should be here any day now. Will report back

...so the speed rating is 25mph and higher?

Gotta admit that the picture of new reproduction are not the same as set shown as received. My set shipped today and if as described I hope at least that they can be polished.

I really feel the work that would be required to sand, then sand, then wet sand, then wet sand some more (even if the trim can be sanded, seems like it might just scratch, the trim is fairly soft) then polish, polish, polish, is more effort than I am willing to exert. As I mentioned the set is WAY better than the rust filled condom some of these trim pieces turn into, and the size and shape seem accurate. I will probably just put them on the shelf and wait for when they are the best option. As I said I have a set that is very nice, not perfect, just very nice.

Yes the moulding need to be finished.
Sand starting with 400 smooth off, sand 600 prime with black sandable primer, sand 400, then 600 and paint with your desired finish, glossy, semi-gloss matte, body color etcetera.
I'm looking forward to mine. I'm going to do Mar-Hyde Black Satin to match the wipers and wiper arms.
Take pride in DIY:D

I received my set on Saturday and noticed the same thing as juddmancoony. They are not nearly as nice as the ones shown in the pictures that Billy posted. Billy also posted a video of them before where they looked nearly identical to the original trim but apparently that video has been taken down.

I'm a little disappointed considering how much these cost, but they are MUCH better than the rusted deformed trim that I have on my car now. It'll be interesting to see how good these clean up and either way I'll be mounting them on my car.
