Did you end up using the LQ4 oil pan? I know that the sump is relatively narrow, but the sump is fairly deep. Did you find this to be a problem, or did you go with the H8 pan, etc?
I live in Ft. Worth, any chance I can come check this beast out? This is close to the route I plan on going next month and was hoping I could see it together for inspiration lol
I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to provide a little info on the power steering plumbing clearance.
I had posted this earlier, but didn't get any attention.
The rack with the lines to clear the oil pan, I flipped 180 deg and drilled holes into the crossmember to hardline through it.
Problem is, I didn't flare the lines or tighten them down enough and have a leak. Now I have to cut a hole in the bottom to mess with the fittings.
Using the fitting below, I just have this running a loop until I can get it fixed. This is not a daily, nor do I drive it too much as I'm debugging my own V8 swap.
I changed the pressure and return line ports in the rack using the 16mm X 1.5 AN to -6AN fittings and then the -6AN pressure flex hose. These work great in this application and seal very well. http://www.borgeson.com/xcart/search...=search&page=1
