Does anybody know if 550cc injectors made for a 7M head will fit in our 5M/6M head and fuel rail? I understand the whole not being able to run them without a fuel controller etc...., I would just like to know if they are physically interchangeable? ITSUKI Drifter, Racetek, anyone??? Thanks,

HOW BIG OF AN INJECTOR!!!

How much boost are you gonna be running in what set-up.... the 550cc injectors from a 2JZ or the 440cc from 7MGTE or 295cc from 7MGE would require the injector harness to be change and soldered... and also would require a piggy back or some sort of fuel controller.... i'll let you know about the fuel controller when I get it installed... I am putting in a HKS Super AFR with 440cc, AEM FPR 1:1, and a Walbro 255lph pump on my 6MGTE set-up

Mk4 injectors won't work in a 5 or 7M fuel, they're side feed injectors. Too bad because they can be had fairly cheap. Also are you sure the HKS SAFR works on a MkII? HKS doesn't show support for flapper AFMs in the installation like the SAFC does, just KV and MAF apps only.

re: injectors

Thanks for the replies guys. ITSUKI Drifter, my plan was to rebuild my 6M, add an upgraded CT-26 (60-1 or 60 trim, haven't decided yet) with all the supporting mods and of course a stand alone. I would like to run upto 15psi on this turbo, with maybe the occassional 18-20psi blast the odd time I need to make my point :) I would really like to go with MKIII 440s, but this would limit me somewhat. I'm trying to plan for a worst case scenario etc....., and the 550s give me that luxury. Still, it would be nice to get a nice affordable set of 440s instead...................

Well, I can with some certainty that 295's will support up to 15 PSI of boost without any major concerns... unless there is some serious error with the math numbers I've worked out... but couple that with the fact that Eric is running 295's and his S-AFC is set to negatives through the whole range... I feel pretty confident...

re:

Hi Bob, I think those 295cc injectors your talking about are running stock CT-26 turbos at elevated fuel pressures, correct? I want to try and refrain from pumping up the fuel pressure cause that will have other implications, and I would like to run a T04B or T04E compressor wheel, which should be pumping out quite a bit more cfm than a stock CT-26 :D

ITSUKI Drifter, I too think SDS is the way to go. I started getting a little interested in this new Split Second MAF mod, but in the end I think the SDS unit will be superior in every aspect (except price :( ) It's gonna be a long term project that I hope to have sorta complete by next spring. You'll probably be pestered by me many more times by then :D

Thanks for the help guys.

440cc??too rich for the 5mge?

My goal is to reach 400 and over hp on the 5mgte but was wondering which injectors would be perfect for it. I have the 440cc with me now but I have talked to a friend and he has said that they fit perfect but i will be running too rich so i will definitely need to reprogram my ecu which is around 800. Another option would be a standalone system but that is a little too much. I was thinking if I cant use the 440cc then maybe someone will buy or make a trade wit them for smaller ones that will withstand up to 400hp. Im a newbie at this so please help me as soon as possible.

re:

Oldschool 85, here's my 2 cents worth, take it for what you will (and I'm by no means the expert here). You will not be able to make your power goals if A) you have injectors that are smaller than 440s, and more than likely 550s will be in order, B) changing to a stand alone, or at the very least the Split Second MAF mode (as seen in the Group Buy section), C) you will definately have to change alot more, like the internals of the car etc......... Lots of people wanna make over 400hp (me included), but to do it right takes alot of time and money. If you take short cuts or try to skrimp on something, you ultimately won't be as happy and might have to rebuild a brand new engine. My recommendation spend some time reading all the posts in this site relating to engines and turbo conversions, also visit the Supraforums site, goto the MKII section, and hit the technical tab on the top, it also illustrates what is needed to convert a 5M into a turbo engine. Good luck.

Crocket... Yeah, I was talking about a ct-26 but on stock FP... A T04 would be a totally different beastie :) Off the cuff, I would think at least 375 CC/min of fuel would be needed... So the 440's in that case would be a decent choice.
