i know here in the states the mkii's, cressidas, and front 4x4 diffs are all 7.5in. what other toyota modles have 7.fin r&p's. there was a site posted in the suspension section for cusco bars. the site also sells trd lsd's. if there is a japanese modle that has a 7.5in lsd it may swap in(soarer, etc...). the prices arent bad. most lsd's are ~$766 usd.

I was told that the mid 80's 2wd toyota pickups had 7.5 rears. You can get some 3.58 and lower gear sets from these. I have not checked this out tho. Next time I hit up the junkyard (this weekend) I'll take a look under some pickups.

I believe it was the MZ10 Soarer that is based on a MkII. Under the ATS differentials the part number for the MZ10 is the same as the IS300. I have no idea if the TRD IS300 diff fits into the MkII case though. About the only way you could verify it would be to buy a Lexus diff and try and fit it. Newer Toyotas don't use the same diff codes today from what I can tell. The IS300 is either a "A" or "B" differential (I can't remember which but I believe it was "B"). You can also buy a lot of the TRD (the ATS as well) diffs stateside much cheaper. I believe you can get the IS300 diff in the mid 600s. I called TRD about 2 years ago now and they said the part # was discontinued and sold out. And then I've heard from others on the list that the # was changed. I've never been able to figure this one out.

well, thats what im trying to figure out. if the lsd from the is300 will fit, that will be an alternative for me if i break the truetrac. i dont know if it will break or not but im trying to find an alternative just in case. i dont think it will but wouldnt mind having a trd lsd for my gte car just because its been proven, then ill just swap the truetrac into the blue 85 when i get the motor with the webbers in there. hopefully ill get a settlement for the red car soon and can get a new mkii to swap the 7m into and will be able to test it out. finally got a 3.727 r&p for it a couple weeks ago. :D

Christian,the 4x2 truck do use the 7.5. That's what is in Ophir's car,89,2wd,3.42 R+P.

William,I'll try and look at an IS diff at work :) Being on the counter full time doesn't give me much chance to go play like I was once able to do.

thanks. if it will work that'll be great. $700 for a trd lsd is alot, but 2 truetracs is $600, so if i break the first one, no point investing in a second knowing it will fail. might as well save for the one that will last and then i will have 1 less thing to worry about. you gotta pay to play.

i doubt it will break, but due to my 84 being totalled, i havent tested it yet, and also, im working on an insane buildup and want to know just in case. im very hard on the drive train so there is always a possibility. the true trac is rated the same for drag racing as the power brute on reiderracing.com. tey both have 4 out of 5 stars so im sure it will hold up.

Some fronts from 4x4s are 7.5 just cant remember what yrs, where's Mr. Eng when you need him :wink:

ok so 85 celica gts w/IRS limited slip 3.90:1 7.5" right? this can be swaped into the supra correct?

My friend brian said the trutracs will hold up till about 425rwhp....that's about it with slicks.....he said the mustang guys use them alot until they get above that then they just change the whole rear axle because it twists otherwize.
