Today, I had the exhaust pipe REPLACED from the CAT to the SS muffler. Sounds good. The guy cut out the bastard resonator. Omar is good, but *I haven't seen his work *(in Shoreline), yet. Aluminized, he said.
I looked at Yelp* and there were stellar reviews. He did that with hangars complete for $200 and was finished in 45 minutes! I took the time for a few beers, across the street at a casino. Yes, I wore my black terrorist mask!

Traffic was so crappy on the way back home, I didn't really TEST ON IT! I'll need a freeway on ramp.
The old pipe just rusted out.
Fast and good? YEP.

i need a new exhaust built up for my van, guess i'll head up to WA to get it done :p


Got a lift in the shop space i share with a couple buddies finally, been cleaning it out little by little. Sold a couple of project cars that were cluttering it up a bit. Buh bye 71 datsun 521 and 85 rx7, gone but not forgotten. Use the process to get a nice welder, no idea what I'm doing, but gotta start somewhere...

Sure is easy doing things up high. This van would be a pain to do certain things without a lift, as the engine is under the seats. You actually unlatch the hood just in front of the front passenger seat, and flip that enter thing back. Going to knock out the timing belt this weekend because i don't read japanese so the stickers saying what maint was done make no sense to me, and it's prolly aged out anyway. Should be much easier from the bottom with the radiator out and standing right in front of the engine.


What did i do to the supra you ask? Nothing lately, it has the premium spot in the house garage so I see it all the time, just haven't really changed much to it. Trying to sell off many many parts i have acquired over the years, again to make space for projects... Lots of suspension stuff from years of me trying different rates and such. Thinking about turning an extra wheel or two into water hose reels for the house.

Why don't you post the Japanese lettering? There are those here that can read it for you.

Buy a fancy 22 " wheel from a scrap yard. It will hold a LOT of garden hose. Get a hub bearing for it, too. Weld /bolt a bolt to it for a crank. Wind it up, Gamble!
Go to Yelp* to find a good exhaust repair shop in your area. That's how I found mine.

I've been driving the ol' girl hard all summer, must've put on 4-5K since spring (all highway).

It was running good until yesterday. I guess when I changed the rad, one of the hoses leaked out ATF, so was low and began slipping. It was funny because the stick didn't show it. I added some OTC additive, which only made it worse 😣

I didn't have a filter, so just drained out what was left in the trans and replaced with 3L new ATF. Runnin' smoo-ooth!!

Thank god it's a Toyota!

For an ATF change, I like to drain it from the pan and then start the engine, put in gear and wait about 5 seconds. When it goes into "neutral", shut 'er down. That will purge the trans cooler of old ATF.I use ATF+4, but it smells bad.
The 'filter' in my '84 is just a screen, so I never change it. A guy can take it off and clean it, I suppose.

Dang, the fill tube is really small! Add fluid slowly! Measure what you drained out and put that much back in. slowly.
I had to add a transmission fluid cooler to my Griffin radiator because they do not have a trans fluid cooler integrated.
It takes an extra few ounces, along with my spin-on filter.

An add-on pusher fan helps to control trans fluid and coolant temperature.
BTW, summer temps will kill your transmission, if the fluid temps get too high. Knee-knocker gauge.

Washed, clayed and waxed my car yesterday. It was super filthy. Clay mits are pretty awesome and cut down on the time of that process as you don't need to knead a small clay bar during the work.

I washed my car in the front yard to give the grass a little water. I used that 303 stuff. Looks OK and really easy to use!
Wet car, spray it on, rinse it off. Blow dry with my leaf blower- came out perfect!;)

Driving country roads it gets dusty and a new touchless carwash just opened up down the road offering specials, so I drive thru. I don't really like the final blower effect esp. on the louvers (up n down pressure), afterwards I always check the trim and chamois wipe down.
