The 9 second MKII that is here in the States is no longer a stock 5MGE. Russ Matusivich's motor is a 5MGE block w/ a 7MGE crank, so it's now basically a 6MGE hybrid (he told me in 99 @ the Vegas meet that this IS a 5M block, not a 6M). And off to the side of the motor, there is this rather large Turbonetics T66. And he is spraying nitrous. Thus the reason for the 9 second 1/4 mile. So to me, it's no longer a 5MGE.
Joel Tanzman is running a severely modded 7M-GTE, so that rules him out.
As for the quickest all motor 5MGE???? Anyone???????
