Yet another addition to the Supra family!

The original "Torque-less Wonder" now belongs to me!!

I never need a reason to purchase a Supra, but this one is special. Armin contacted me and said that he was selling his Supra and asked if I wanted to make the purchase. I really only needed parts because I have way too many cars, and too many projects. But the thought of this car going to someone who didn't appreciate its history was too much to bear. Like many here, this build was an inspiration to build my own 1JZ swap. Many people said that a 1JZ could not make over 500 rwhp, many said that you can't go over 20 psi on 93 pump gas, and Armin would shake his head and prove them wrong.

After driving over 1900 miles in just two days, the Supra is safe and sound in my new stable (my garage that holds lots of 'horses').

Armin is a nice guy and I hope that he makes his way back to the Supra community soon. It was great chatting with him and I wish him the best in his future endeavors.

It is at a Supra-friendly home but the plans are unsure at this time. The body is in poor shape, unfortunately. It appears that the parts are still in good condition and many upgrades on this car will be utilized in one fashion or another. For now, several parts will be used to complete other Supras until I can find more time and money to decide how much bodywork I want to undertake.

The "Torque-less Wonder" is often attempted, but will never be duplicated again. Welcome home Supra, and introduce yourself to the others.

Let me know if you decide to part it out. I need a few body panels. :)
wow, so jealous of your garage! That looks like another fun project, and hopefully your wife is still very understanding :)

Looking forward to updates!

Awwww Armin.. I always looked up to his build. I've noticed he's been quiet for a while. Figured the pizza biz was boomin. I'm sooo glad it's going into good hands, with the opportunity to help others come to life. Good luck with your adventures.

If I ever do, you will be waiting for a very long time.

I was telling her my opportunity, and what Armin and his car meant to me, and she was the one who pushed me to buy it. I didn't have this in my budget but she understands and convinced me to get the entire drivetrain. I will keep you posted as this rebuild and parts start surfacing on my projects.

Thanks, Sam. I don't think the pizza business is going well but I don't want to speak for him. I appreciate the confidence and will keep you in the loop.

And no, those wheels aren't for sale. Haha. They will have race slicks or track tires soon, once I burn the rest of the current compound off them. :zzzzz: Many of these modifications will never be for sale, if left up to me. There is a lot of rust/rot mixed with a lot of goodness.

Long trip for sure. I left at 0730 hours and arrived at the hotel 2330 hours. The next morning, I loaded the car/extra parts and chatted with Armin for a while and then started home...rolled in at 0430 hours the next day. Whew! The love for these cars and Supra family takes its toll.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Congrats on the purchase !! I'm still shocked he sold it, but very happy to hear it stayed in the community . Good luck with the beast :)
You passed pretty close to my place. Oh well. lol. If you part anything, let me know what it is. I had expressed interest to him on some parts. Sadly I didn't have the funds to grab the whole car when it became available.
Woah, thanks for nabbing that one, it has some history.

(For example, did you know those wheels once lived on my brown car and were part of the single-largest meeting of ROH wheels ever seen in one place? ...it also happened to be at the very first MK2 tail of the dragon meet in 2007...)

Did it take place at a 90's impala ss meet? Cause those came stock with ROH wheels :p

Yeah, between you, Armin, and Sam I had wanted a 1jz swap. Don't put your car up for sale. I can't afford any more! Haha

Crazy! Would be nice to shake your hand and buy you a beer for the assistance you have provided thus far in my build. I won't be parting anything out, if at all, but I will keep you in the loop. Rain check on that beer.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing that tidbit. Unfortunately the wheels don't look that nice anymore but once I paint or powder coat them they will turn out nice.
No beer, ill take a Mt. Dew though. lol. Could have swung by on the way home and seen the mess that is my garage/parts storage and had some food off the grill or smoker. oh well. another time.
good stuff...

Love the kodak moment on the wheels. And its always right to bring inspirational builds home... not only will it be going home to a good home, it will also be owned by an owner who respect the car and know whole-heartedly got it for what it is really worth. Good stuff bro and I hope the car's legacy continues.
"Garage that holds many horses," love it... show them ponies bro!

Haha. In good time...there is too much work to do with all these mk2's!
sorry dude, but that is a really bad idea….
you should give Billy his wheels back, & the rest of the car would be happier in my garage.
Awesome buy buddy. Very nice, try not to forget the little people on the way up, will ya? LOL
