Hello all,
Just finished wiring up my SDS system into my '84 with orig. 5mge motor. Took a while, quite a project with fabrications and running wire. Not really hard, well made kit, just took a bunch of time (slow me).
Anyway, I'm trying to run a aftermarket water temp gauge in my console, having trouble finding a place to pull a signal from. The spare plug in the t-stat housing went toward a sender unit for the SDS system (can't be tapped into), but I'm thinking maybe I can tap into one of the wires for either of the sending units at the front of the t-stat housing. I believe they are for EFI and cold start injector. The factory gauge sending unit is below the dizzy according to what I've read, not sure if tapping into that would mess up the stock gauge (which I want to keep working). Any thoughts? Figure maybe I could find the wire at the ECU that comes from one of the sending units at the front t-stat housing, and just tap that. The stock ECU is not needed currently.
Thank you for any suggestions!
Don L.
