Hi everyone
I am only new to this site and I have come into the recent possesion of an ma61. This is the third supra I have owned and the second ma61. I am very interested in jumping straight into and engine conversion (obviously I am not the only one). Anyway I am wondering if the 1uz-fe has ever been attempted and if not why not??

Any answers would be appreciated and you will probably see me around alot from now on, so greetings!!

A recent episode of Rides showed Rob Millan putting a 3UZ in an IS300 with a V160 transmision for Lexus. A custom bellhousing adapter was built and some wiring had to be modified.

The total swap added 2 pounds to the car from stock, but now it has 350hp. It could spin the tyres on pavement as if it was on ice.

I guess TRD is too busy with the F1 program to have done it.

Ive seen one in the metal, very impressive, but pretty tight on the sides, so im guessing no possibility for extractors.

I originally wanted to do this but:

bellhousing
clutch
flywheel
ECU
wiring

was going to be a prick!! But it would be such a cool motor in a MA61!!!

Just cost more than a 1JZGTE conversion, thats all.

i'll give you an outline of all the info i have collected

first off, you WILL need a custom bellhousing, but they are avaliable - you should be able to use a custom flywheel/clutch setup like an eaton or similar, or you could figure something out from 7MGTE parts, toyota is like lego, you can mostly always find stuff that will fit

as far as the ECU and wiring, you will need to use a standalone aftermarket system (Haltech, F-con V-pro, motec etc.), and then adapt it to fit with the stock wiring harness, but i wouldnt forsee it being any more difficult than a 2JZ conversion, with the exception of a lack of plans

its a buttload of work, but when i pull it off...
