ok i am thinking about doing a 7m swap on my 83 supra, and i was wondering how much boost can this engine handle? i was hoping i could run 12 psi but i dont know to much about the 7m. i read that at 6.8 psi you run 0-100 in 6.2 seconds, but i have no idea if this is true or not. And if i was able to run around 10-12 psi how much horse and torque do you figure i would be at (rwhp) Thanks for all your help.

Matthew - use the search feature to answer this question. This has been discussed a lot here and every question you can possibly have has been answered. I will say this - there is NOTHING else like a 7m MKII. It'll plaster a smile on your face that won't come off.

alright thanks, now do you know what psi i could run without having to upgrade much? and at 10-12 what would i probley need to do? fuel pump and what not?

Matthew,a fuel pump upgrade is probably all you'll really need at that psi.

But,as mentioned above, please do a bit more research.Hell, just read the next 3 full pages in the 7mgte section. If your not willing to spend the time to do that,or claim to not have the time to research ...... you don't have the time to even consider the swap.By saying this,I'm NOT trying to piss you off, just stating the facts as I see them. The questions you are asking so far,can be answered with just a bit of time on your part.

I wouldn't run anything more than stock boost if you haven't touched the HG. If you have a good condition motor and HG you can generally run up to fuel cut (near 12 psi) on stock everything.

Good to hear, and yes,we are here to help,so don't take my last post as an ass chewing :D I'm done with that, unless someone is really being a PITA,LOL.

Collective minds around this place, have these swaps down very well.

HP,I have seen on stock set-up,depending on minor upgrades, have been from 250-303whp at several boost levels.Every car/engine seems to be totaly different.I have seen 280+ at 9psi,and less HP at 12psi.

yeah ive seen that to, i was thinking about just doin up an mk3 but 3500 pounds i heard, that would require alottt of guitting and is not worth it when i could get my supra and be 10x lighter, right now im thinking of taking out the a/c since i dont need it and the rear seat and the spare and jack and what not. should shed off a few extra pounds im hoping.

Just put some more NOS and Comp cams stickers on it, lets say 5 hp each so 40 stickers and your pushing 200 hp more easy. I put 10 stickers on mine and I was smokin civics with Vtec and iceman intakes all the time. I heard roof scoops will help your aerodynamics and improve your top speed by 15%.

it would be a good idea to have a wide band to moniter the air and fuel when turning up the boost because more air = more fuel and you dont want to run more than 12;1 at boost just to keep every thing cool and if you dont have this ratio at higher boost level then you need to up grade your fuel output blackbird (85mk2,with7mgte,sds em4 standalone, upgraded suspenion,15/8 sportmax wheels, more mods to come, goal is 400plus hp
