So the dash lights come on with the parking lights, but go off when you turn on the headlights?

 

The instrument panel is all leds, like the knight rider car.

They work normally, when i get in and start the car.
But when i put the lights on (night time) the instrument surround lights come on and the leds themselves disappear!!

So when lights are on i can see the instrument panel itself, but none of the gauges can be seen (leds not on)!!

With me?

I'm pretty sure you're digi dash dimmer switch is fried. I had to jumper mine out, for IIRC, the same problem. I'd suggest replacing it.

 

Check your dimmer switch! I have the same problem with my Cressida (with a digital dash) sometimes. My hand bumps it to the off position when I go turn the key. I have the same symptoms too. The dash lights will be on with the headlights off and then switch off with the headlights on. Just turn the dimmer switch the other way.

Right i've tried the dimmer switch (taken pic to make sure i'm not bein a complete idiot!) But doesn't do anything!!!

Check your dimmer switch is actually connected (there's a connector behind it). I had the same thing happen when I forgot to connect mine. If the dimmer switch isn't doing anything (ie dimming the dash lights) there's obviously a problem with it, either it's not connected or it's broken.
