Hello all,
I was sitting around thinking today about all my supras and their collective stuff and was thinking about what my origianl HKS turbo kit would be worth. It has the t4 manifold, scramble boost controller, fcon w/295 prom and 295 injectors, oil cooler, front mount intercooler, pipes, hks plenum, boost guage, egt guage, hks turbo timer and most of the mounting hardware. I am sure there is other stuff I am missing but I believe it has everything needed for the complete kit. It has a t04 but I do not know if it is the original hks turbo that was sold with it. This is a great product but it is somewhat limited for a true horsepower junkie. I was curious what the forum thought this would be worth, whole not in parts because I may end up going the 7mgte route instead. Thanks for all your input in advance.....

Mike Rapp, its Jeff Tamulis Do you remember that mint 1984 Chris Parvin and I put a 7M into?
well... I have it, and I'm taking it to 450+rwhp and selling it. And I might be interested in a
partial trade for a hardtop MKII. Just a thought..
email me your phone number and I'll call you on my dime

Jeff thanks for the offer. I will sell the 85 sdr outright but I think the hardtop will stay in her stable for a while. And yes I do remember the red 84 and she was nice.

After looking thru some previous posts and doing some research, I believe this kit is a stage 3 kit. Also not in the previous post is that it does come with the evc as well. Hope this helps and I'm sure I'll remember more stuff with time.

On topic now...

The "actual" value of the kit is probably fairly low because of the reasons you've said - it's fairly old technology and design and the power is limited compared to more modern solutions.

That being said, its value as a piece of history for the car is probably very high. It's the sort of thing you get and install into a car in mint condition, but don't really drive. More of a timepiece. It's incredibly rare, and I'm sure a few members here would pay good money just to have one.

Other members more knowledgable in history can probably quantify it better than i can.

What do you want for it? Give me an idea of what you are looking to get...you must have some idea...

PM mk1fan. He bought a very clean 82 with the kit (at least stage 1) installed and running
from BShapton. He could give you an idea as how much $$ it was worth for him.
I know I was offered 350 for my kit (manifold/turbo/waste, small IC, piping&clamps, HKS FComputer, HKS pipe above head, BOV) but I declined. It's really a gamble.
Sometimes you can find a buyer that absolutly want it, goes for $$$, and other times there is nobody, goes only for a few ¢¢...
I'm starting to think of installing mine in a near future, never know!

Hey Mike it's George...personally I would NEVER sell a kit like that. The money you get from it is here today and gone tomorrow. That kit is a piece of MK2 history and those things don't come along everyday. To me; that kit is priceless and if I owned it and somebody wanted to buy it the figure would be HUGE. I don't care how old school the technology is; this kit is NOT for the poor bum that wants big HP on a budget...it's HISTORY brother...I vote KEEP it.

<--checks thread and noted there was no option for a vote...hmmm...might have to modify this thread tomorrow and put one in...
